Setting out rights and responsibilities
West Kent Housing Association provides affordable homes for over 6,000 families. Every household receives a Service Standards brochure, which sets out what they can expect from West Kent as a landlord – and their responsibilities as tenants. In 2011, we were asked to refresh this document, which we’d first produced four years previously.
Following the design we’d developed for West Kent’s Annual Reports, we introduced a clear, easy-to-read font, and colour-coded tabbed sections illustrated with simple cut-out images. The design also had to present tables of service standards and performance targets.
Alongside this document, we produced a series of separate leaflets on specific policies and procedures.
A project like this proves that, for our clients, accuracy, attention to detail and adherence to the brief can be as important as pure creativity. But it also demonstrates our ability to produce an effective working document that looks good, within strict design and content guidelines.
